Abstract
The goal of the present paper is to outline the origins of electoral geography and the methods developed in Mexico and other countries. The article is divided into two sections: the first one explores the genesis of electoral geography and the second one gives an overall view of the debate regarding its theoretical and methodological relevance in Social Sciences.
