Spaces and Citizenship Projects. The Dispute over the Cities
Main Article Content
Abstract
This article analyzes the relationship between city and citizenship through delineating citizen spaces. These spaces are socially produced as fields of action either in or on the city. They display types of participation in its relationship to the city. I understand fields of action both as a behavior and practice, defined by social interaction. This action comprises a constant state of movement, activity, and production of alternative citizenship projects. When so produced, actions and projects that occur within citizens spaces face, tighten, rub, oppose each other and with other urban actors, and hence social struggle and the dispute on the city is the result.
