Las Adelitas Subalternidad y problemas en la edificación democrática del espacio público.

Abstract

This article describes the different forms of action and thought of the Adelitas. A subalternity approach is taken, to answer the following questions: what were the difficulties facing these women when trying to make an impact on the dominant authoritarian order, considering the fact that they have been constructed –or even determined– by such order themselves? How is that order reproduced in their political relations and their own conceptions of power? The objective is to take the answers into a broader reflection as to how democratic political participation can be achieved, or what sort of microsocial dykes stop citizen emancipation from coming through in Mexico City.
