Representaciones sociales de la costa entre el peligro y la evasión

Abstract

The aim of this work is to study the social representations of the coastal space in Santa Fe city (Argentina) based on the analysis of paintings to think about the ways in which the symbolic construction of the landscape is produced. First it presents the situation of the city, it describes the coastal area and its people, and then it analyses the works of two artists of different trends that worked the coastal landscape. Finally it discusses the concept of social representations and their relationship to the images and rebuilds the looks embodied in paintings in order to determine how a part of the society sees this space.
