Nuevos procesos de metropolización del territorio

Abstract

The metropolization process has experienced conceptual transformations throughout last century, mainly because it’s no longer a phenomenon that only explains the urban growth of mother cities beyond their administrative boundaries. This paper argues that metropolization phenomena has to be seen as an advanced-stage process of urban growth under completely different paradigms that led to the suburbanization process occurred in the first half of the twentieth century.
