Abstract

The objective of the article is to learn and interpret the meanings that the Ticas community of the Comechingón nation-people (Córdoba, Argentina) assigns to the territory within a process of indigenous claim and re-emergence; what are the representations they have of the forms of territorial appropriation by the State and real estate development. Thus, understanding the territory as a conflictive, contradictory and dynamic social process, we identify from the perspective of the community, various ways of inhabiting the territory that become contradictory: as a living space or as a business. As a methodological strategy we use qualitative data collection techniques with content and discourse analysis.
