Abstract

The current migration, exacerbated by the globalization processes and the transnationalism has influenced not only on the population composition and politic, economic and social organization of little communities but also on the family itself, producing transnational families. This article analyzes how migrant families from a little town situated on the Mixteca (in Oaxaca) across the national border have conformed and reorganized, and how the new daily practices introduced by the migration have had an impact on the family relationships.
