Abstract

Based on an ethnography of water in the town of Santa Rosa Xochiac (Mexico City), this article analyzes the role that
springs memories play in the forms of community organization for the control and management of the resource as well
as in the experience and production of the territory, where there are continuous urbanization processes. In this way, the
senses and meanings attributed to water and its local management are recognized as forms of self-regulation marked by
reciprocities, distances or ruptures that reveal the emergence and convergence of territorialities and citizenships in constant
transformation.
