Mining Interests and Jurisdictional Disputes between Michoacán and Guerrero (1894-1906)

Abstract

The present work intends to contribute to the history of territorial divisions through an approach to the causes that motivated the settlement of territorial limits between Michoacán and Guerrero in 1906. This event has been addressed by the historiography of both entities, however, it has been neglected the process that led to this resolution: the jurisdictional disputes since the municipality of El Carrizal was created in 1894 and the Territorial Division Law of 1901 issued in Michoacán.
