Production and Reception of Memory Spaces in Mexico: A Comparative Analysis

Abstract

This article is a sociological interpretation about the way two memory places that address social struggle and State violence were built: Del 68 Memorial and The Museum of Casa de la Memoria Indómita. From the application of qualitative research techniques —interviews and participating observation— I will analyze what were the political and social conditions of their construction and the aesthetic and political intentionality embodied. Likewise, surveys were carried out with the purpose of exploring the profile of its visitors and the axiological and affective impact of these memory places.
