Changes and the remaining of gender roles and identities in families of Tlaxcala, Mexico

Abstract

The everyday life of families suffers changes of gender roles and identities, and also their remaining. These support ambiguous, contradictory, and paradoxical relationships inside family dynamics. On this article, we show how gender categories and the individualization theory allow us to show an interpretation regarding family on the XXI century. To achieve this goal, we will analyze paternity and maternity roles throughout ethnic data, and also, the gender identity of the heads of the family within five households of the middle of Tlaxcala.
